The Choice Group Counselors work closely with the school's transition team to provide assessments, job development, placement and training in community-based competitive employment opportunties with a focus on job seeking skills and soft skills training. Counselors provide services funded by the Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS), the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (BHDS) through the MR Waiver and DD Waiver, insurance companies and private payment arrangements. |

These courses cover a wide range of Microsoft products, each selected for their wide use and distribution in the marketplace. Training in these applications will best serve in preparing the job seeker for competitive employment. This training can be used to assess the appropriateness of the vocational goal or formal education in pursuit of certification or a degree. The courses are typically completed in numerous sessions and include a pre-training assessment, individualized support during the sessions, take-home projects, quizzes, and a post-training assessment. |

A collaborative program in which students with disabilties are given opportunties to work in various community businesses to learn work skills in real settings. This is followed by an on-site classroom component designed to teach job seeking and soft skills to the students to better prepare them for the transition from school to the working world. Internship opportunities in retail, groundskeeping, housekeeping, dietary services, and landscape nursery have been offered to students. |
